HREP Website Visitor: No to Mining in Libertad

Honorable Paolo Javier,

My name is Daughlet Bautista Ordinario, originally from Pandan, Antique and now a resident of San Diego, California. I am a recipient of 2010 Bugal Kang Antique Award. I am also the outgoing president of Pagtatap USA, an NGO serving the municipality of Pandan for 25 years. At present I am the President of DB Foundation, a non profit organization with programs that provide opportunities for our youth on education and scholarship and empowering the community on environment conservation.

I am writing to you in deep concern of our hometown Pandan and the protected Northwest Panay Peninsula on the proposed mining in Libertad. I urge you to look at the future of the people of Antique and our land on the potential disastrous effect of mining in San Roque once this is materialized. We have signed petition to cancel whatever permit that was already granted to the Palmeras Group of Iloilo that have initiated grading the land for this proposed mining.

Thank you for your service and I am asking on behalf of our foundation that you will continue to serve our people in Antique.

Sincerely yours,

Daughlet B Ordinario
President, DB Foundation
