HREP Website Visitor: Mining in Libertad/Pandan

Dear Honorable Congressman Javier,

I, DR. CESAR D. CANDARI, a Filipino-U. S. Citizen and a native of Pandan, Antique, Philippines join the ranks of protesters who oppose the planned mining operations in the Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park in Western Visayas. I am aware that Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park has been established is protected by NIPA as declared by Pres. Arroyo in 2002 under Proclamation No. 186.

I am extremely concerned of the familiar catastrophic impact on the environment and the serious health vulnerability they create on the residents of Pandan and Libertad. Contamination resulting from leakage of chemicals are risk of adverse health effects and land and water resource degradation that can last for years or even decades.

I would like to ask your office to help us in protecting Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park.

NO TO MINING IN NORTHWEST PANAY PENINSULA NATURAL PARK! I need your response.

Respectfully yours,
(SGD.)
